Abstrakt


Over the last quarter century, three intense transformations took place in Central Europe. For the first time at the beginning of the 90s, when communism fell in this part of Europe; for the second time in the early 2000s when several Central Europe’s countries became Members of the European Union. Finally, nowadays, Europe is facing with a democratic crisis and increasing populism with the migration crisis as the background. Each time, this transformation was accompanied with debates about the memory and identity of Central Europe. In this article, we focus on those debates and their aftermaths paying special attention to the European memory of Holocaust.
