Jest nadzieja. Ramy i realia edukacji równościowej i antydyskryminacyjnej na przykładzie problemu historii kobiet

Iwona Chmura-Rutkowska, Edyta Głowacka-Sobiech

Abstrakt

The aim of the presented text is to present what (non-) equality and anti- discrimination education looks like in Poland. At the same time, we show how the lack of equality, and consequently discrimination, is harmful and destructive—it limits development and the possibility of action, takes away the chance to fully participate in social life, negatively affects psychophysical well-being and finally justifies violence. Using the example of women's history, we show what anti-discrimination, emancipation and pro-equality strategies are effective, and at the same time what exclusion from the public space and narrative of memory means for the oppressed and absent—repeated harm and injustice. We therefore postulate that the Polish school, as a place for equality, inclusion and anti-discrimination education, should abandon the transmission of ‘world knowledge’ and opt for critical and emancipatory ‘teaching for the world.’
